I’m Taking a Mini Hiatus

Hi friends!

I just wanted to write a quick post and let you know that I’ve decided to take a mini hiatus from blogging.

I’m travelling a lot over the next two weeks. I’m going back to Victoria on Wednesday, up to Tofino on Friday, then back down to Victoria after and up to Parksville the following weekend. I also have friends in town right now, so my evenings will be busy here before I go. And then I’m all over the Lower Mainland for work stuff, so I’m just not able to find the downtime I need to write.

I have about half a dozen posts that are half-drafted, waiting for me to finish them, so there will be lots to say when I come back! First, I’ll post my moving budget (and some pics of the new place, for those who have asked for them). I have one final moving-related post that I’ll probably publish after that. I have a follow-up post on a subject that I wrote a lot about last May. And I want to talk about both my half marathon training and some vegetarian diet-related stuff.

As for my finances, things are going to be tight until payday (Wednesday). But I’m going to make a $500 debt repayment that day, bringing my total down to $495! I am definitely going to be debt-free on May 31st, which feels both exciting and also extremely anti-climactic. Nevertheless, it’s going to be a big month!

Anyway, I can’t say when I’ll be back for sure, but it shouldn’t be too long.

Hope you all had a great weekend! :)

  • Hi Cait. Enjoy your break from blogging while you breeze through the next few weeks with all your planned activities. Our past weekend here in TO was exciting, what with our hockey Maple Leafs managing to beat Boston, extending the series to the full 7-game limit. Should be an exciting game tonight! Go Leafs Go! Bet you wish that you were still here to see it, eh? Then again, maybe not as the weather here has turned a tad colder lately. So much for spring! :-)

  • You deserve a break! So much excitement in your life right now to fully experience. I’ve enjoyed reading your blog since February. Your posts have helped me narrow my vision back to staying on track with my own finances. Thank you!

    • Thank you for letting me know that, Samantha! It’s always nice to hear when you’ve helped others, even just a little bit :)

  • Wow! Congrats on such a productive month. May 31st isn’t too far away either. Can’t wait to read your updates when you get back.

  • You totally need a break- enjoy all the good things and newness that is happening in your life- can’t wait to read your posts when you return… by the way you are so right about Debt Free Forever… loving the book :)
