It’s Moving Weekend! Well, Kind Of

BC Ferries

This post is going to be short, as I’m prepping for what might be the most ridiculous attempt at moving from one city to another ever!

As some of you already know, Baby Sis and I spent most of Wednesday travelling to Vancouver and back, so I could pick up the keys to my new apartment. Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough help to make the move happen that day, so it was just a short day trip (filled with lots of laughs, as sisters do).

On Sunday, Mom, Baby Bro and I are taking a U-Haul truck filled with all of my stuff over. Sunday will be my big move. But we won’t be doing much unpacking that day, as I’ll be heading back to Victoria with them afterwards. Yep, you read that right. I’ll be moving my things over and then coming right back.

Why the heck would someone do all of that travelling!? Trust me, my budget is not impressed. But I’m a finalist for the Best Personal Blog Award that I won last year and, since I couldn’t attend the dinner last year, I wanted to make the effort to go and meet some of the people I have only connected with online.

The dinner is on Tuesday night, so I’ll be crashing on my parents’ couch for a few nights and catching the 7am ferry to Vancouver on Wednesday morning. The next few days are going to be long and busy, hopefully mixed with a little bit of fun. I’m excited to get my things into my new place this weekend, and I can’t wait to officially move over on Wednesday. Considering I left Toronto on March 26th, it’s been a long time comin’!

What are you up to this weekend? :)

Sounds like a great weekend, yes it’ll be busy, but it’ll also be rewarding. I’ve got a packed weekend ahead of me. Some down time tonight followed by getting up at 6am tomorrow to go help serve a community breakfast, then into town to buy my marriage license/get my veggie fix at the market/peruse some real estate. Sunday is my favourite day though – heading to the closest provincial park for a day of hiking and walking on the beach!

Looks like you’re in for a busy next several days, Cait. Hope everything goes smoothly on your move this Sunday. Good luck and hope that you enjoy yourself next Tuesday at the Social Media Awards dinner.

As for me, this weekend I’ll probably be doing some yard work and coping with my springtime allergies – aaaachooo !!! :-)

That’s not too bad. The week after we moved from Nova Scotia to Ontario as teens my parents got to drive us back to Nova Scotia (18 hrs each way) so that we could attend a 2 day provincial swim meet (it was a big deal for us).

Wowza! That sounds like a super hectic weekend!

I’ve got a few things on the go – helping my mother in law move, meeting my friends new baby twins, painting the bathroom, visiting my great aunt lol… just one or two things.

Good luck with the move & the personal blog award! I’m one of those crazy people who usually enjoys the packing and unpacking process of moving. Plus the excitement of a new place.

This weekend I’m attempting to figure out more about how to get my new site running smoothly & trying juicing for the first time!

Moving is such a hassle but being in a new place can be so much fun. We’re moving late July and I’m already so excited. I can’t wait to decorate and make it feel like a home.

I’m keeping my nose down and working my second job tonight and tomorrow afternoon. I just moved myself and I’m catching up on some moving expenses. Next month it’s back to full steam ahead on the debt repayment. I’m hoping to be credit card debt free by the end of the year.

Woo! Good luck with the move, C! I’m working a little bit late tonight (we have an event). But Saturday & Sunday I am going to try to soak up the sunshine! Saturday we are attending a “Cuatro de Mayo” party, and Sunday I’m going to spend some time with a friend (and a book) on her amazing roofdeck. It’s going to be sunny and HOT this weekend! I need to make friends with someone who has a pool or a boat!
