The Personal Finance Workout

Last year, Cupcakes, Serendipity and I became online workout buddies. We tweeted each other whenever one of us had completed a workout, checked in to see where everyone was at, and motivated each other to continue with our progress. After a while, it slowly died off. But we would randomly check-in from time-to-time and, since Tuesday’s post, have been back at it full-swing.

Just this morning, we were trying to come up with a hashtag to use on Twitter that would help our tweets standout. This is something that Red and many other bloggers attempted earlier this year but, again, it slowly died off. Knowing the number of replies, tweets and emails I have received about Tuesday’s post, I think it’s safe to say that many bloggers in this community are either total gym junkies or want to be! And if we share every detail about our finances with one another, why can’t we talk about our workouts and weight loss accomplishments too?

So, here’s what we are thinking…

  • If you want to share a workout you just completed and/or are comfortable enough to share the success of a weight loss, use the hashtag #pfworkout.
  • If you have questions you want to ask about a particular workout or diet that you think someone in this community may be able to answer, use the hashtag #pfworkout.
  • If you want to share your favourite workout tips or even the newest songs on your workout playlist, use the hashtag #pfworkout.

If no one ends up using the hashtag but us, that’s ok too. But the support in this community is huge and there is no reason we can’t talk about more than money!

    my friends and I have just logged into on our ipads and iphones. you can view one anothers daily success and it asked you to offer words of encouragement when they havent’ logged in for a few days, or their caloric intake was too high. you can also view their food diaries to get ideas what other are eating. Working so far, lost 2.6 lbs. and hope to keep it up for 10 more. The more support for me the better, so i will for sure use the hashtag and be in on the group!!

      I used to use myfitnesspal too with my mom, aunt and cousin but they all left me hanging so it got kinda boring using it by myself. If anyone is on myfitnesspal we should all have a page with our usernames or something so we can add each other! I love how the PF community is so determined to work together, even on our fitness…woooooo!!!!!!

    I’M SO IN!!!!!!!! And damnit, I just tweeted a workout but I used #turbokick grrrrr definitely not part of the cool crowd today. Should have read this post first but I was tweeting at the gym hahaha :) YAY FOR PF WORKOUT BUDDIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
