Use your time at home this week to join sites like groupon.com to get deals on eating out for half price. I see you like ice-cream. Use a coupon to buy whatever is on sale and keep it in the freezer – You can have ice cream every day for what it costs to eat it out in one or two days. Good luck with eating at home all week. I struggle with that too.

I absolutely hate deal sites, but appreciate the suggestion!

We have an eating out addiction as well. I am wishing you luck, I know how hard it can be.

Thanks, Niki! It definitely won’t be easy…

I feel your pain, my restaurant spending is so bad that I’ve been doing a weekly recap of it to keep myself motivated by shaming myself on the blog!

    • LC June 19, 2011 at 8:10 pm

Haha, shaming yourself… it’s good to be honest about it, though.

I also eat out way too much, but it has gone down significantly since I started my Fast Food Fail report on my blog…

    • LC June 19, 2011 at 8:10 pm

Nice, I’ll have to check that out!

I’m not a fan of deal sites either… I feel like people spend way more money on those sites than saving money. And the fine print can be tricky! There was a deal for indoor go-carting racing, but you could only use it Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm. Seriously? I’m working during those hours! lol

    Good luck on the ban!

They definitely make you spend/not save! Bad news for anyone that looks to spend money, aka most personal finance bloggers! :P
